Meet Our Surgeons
Dr. Howard Park
Dr. Park graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree in Information and Computer Science from the University of California, Irvine in 1987. He continued his education in dentistry at Harvard School of Dental Medicine. After receiving his Doctorate from Harvard, he began his residency training in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of California, Los Angeles during which he received his Medical Degree in 1995.
Dr. Park has been in private practice in Santa Monica and a member of the Medical Staff at Saint John’s Health Center since 1999. He is currently on the teaching faculty at UCLA School of Dentistry in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and maintains membership in several professional organizations including the American Medical Association, and the Academy of Osseointegration. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and The National Dental Board of Anesthesiology. Dr. Park practices the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with special interest and expertise in dental implants. Dr. Park is married to Anne and has two grown children.
Dr. Richard Ting
Dr. Ting, a Southern California native, attended college at the University of California, San Diego earning a Bachelors of Science degree in Physiology in 1999. He was accepted to dental school at the University of Southern California graduating with honors in 2003. After receiving his doctorate in dentistry, he continued his education at the University of California, Los Angeles entering residency training in oral and maxillofacial surgery. During his time at UCLA, he earned his medical degree in 2006 and completed a 1 year internship in general surgery.
Dr. Ting is an active member of the medical staff at Saint John’s Health Center. He also maintains membership in several professional organizations including American Medical Association, and Academy of Osseointegration. Dr. Ting is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and he practices the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery.
Dr. Ting is married to Haylee and has two children.
Dr. Gil Ivry
Dr. Ivry is originally from Russia, growing up in Riga. He moved to the United States in 1992 and settled in Santa Monica. Dr. Ivry graduated with honors from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a degree in Biology. He obtained a Masters degree in Histology at Boston University. He then went on to complete his dental education at UCLA School of Dentistry in 2010. After receiving his Doctorate, Dr. Ivry continued his education as a resident at UCLA Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Program. He also earned a medical degree and completed a one year internship of general surgery. Dr. Ivry practices the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery.
Dr. Ivry is married to Elina and has two young daughters and a son. In his spare time, Dr. Ivry enjoys traveling, spending time with his family, relaxing on the beach and skiing/snowboarding.
Dr. Jeffrey Tanner
Dr. Tanner was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri where his passion for dentistry started at a very young age as a son of a small-town dentist, Dr. Michael Tanner. Having lived in the west Los Angeles area for the past 10 years, he is anxious to contribute his knowledge and passion for dentistry and to serve within the local community. Dr. Tanner completed his undergraduate degree and his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Missouri. He completed a general practice residency at USC and the North Hills VA before starting his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at UCLA in 2012. Dr. Tanner is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and he practices the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with special interest and expertise in orthognathic surgery.
Dr. Tanner is married to Victoria and has two young children. In his free time, he enjoys outdoor activities such as back-country hiking and camping, skiing, mountain biking, and photography. In addition, you may catch him in the middle of a small construction project as he has interests in architecture and design.
Dr. Derek Vajda
Dr. Vajda was born and raised in Northwest Indiana in a small suburb of Chicago. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Indiana University in 2011. He then continued his education at Indiana University School of Dentistry where he was President of his class. After receiving his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree with the highest distinction, he began his residency training in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of California, Los Angeles during which he received his Medical Degree and completed a General Surgical Internship.
Dr. Vajda is now in private practice in Santa Monica and a member of the Medical Staff at UCLA where he takes facial trauma and infection call. He is also on the teaching faculty at UCLA School of Dentistry in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and maintains membership in several professional organizations including the American Medical Association, American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Dr. Vajda is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and he practices the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with special interest and expertise in orthognathic surgery. Having lived in the west Los Angeles area for the past 6 years, he is looking forward to serving within the local community.
Dr. Vajda is married to Lauren who a resident in anesthesiology at UCLA. In his free time, Dr. Vajda enjoys working out, Chicago sports, dining, and traveling throughout the world.
